I am an artist and illustrator working from my home studio in north Texas. My studio faces a generous stretch of natural forest. I draw inspiration from whatever plays outside my window. I am ever so grateful for this view! In my artwork I love layering collages, colors and textures. My preferred tools of the trade are iPadPro and Pencil, and then editing the illustrations in Photoshop. Working mainly digitally allows my creativity to flow seamlessly as I can change and mix up things until I’m absolutely happy with the results.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family, reading, cooking healthy meals, playing board games and entertaining friends. I love hiking and would generally prefer walking to sitting. My all-time favorite workout is yoga, which not only stretches and strengthens the body but also nourishes the soul.
Originally from Israel, I graduated from Holon Institute of technology with a major in Industrial Design and a Bachelor of Science in Technology Education, and continued to study Fine Art for a couple of years. I’ve worked for a software development company and as a graphic designer. When my son was born I fell in love with the amazing world of children’s books. I’ve been a member of the SCBWI since 2010.
Funny how things turned up. This is me in the red cowboy hat. My dad took this photo when I was in preschool, dancing in my cowboy costume with my friends at a Purim party. I still remember what the costume felt like and how it smelled. It came with a belt and a handgun that made a real loud Bang! Little did I know then that I will move to the US with my husband and two kids and end up living in Texas among real cowboys. My name is pronounced Yeefaht which means Beauty in Hebrew.
